A bustling, interesting cosmopolitan city of more than a million people. The city centre / sea front is mostly modern high rise, mixed in with archaeological sites and old churches and other places of religious worship. Some excellent museums and a sprinkling of sculptures and statues. It is worth taking a taxi to the top of the old town to see the old Byzantine city walls and walk down through the old city to the new. Taxis are not expensive. There are lots of places to eat out, with a wide range of styles and prices. there is a 'hop on hop off' bus tour of the city, but we didn't have time to try it.

Thessaloniki is a great place for history. it has been a melting pot of different cultures. it has had its tragedies , a fire that destroyed much of the city just over a hundred years ago. There was the rounding up and transportation of Jews to Auchwitz and similar extermination camps. Three Empires ruled Thessalpniki in the past Rome , The Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire. So much to see and do with great food at good prices . Above all very friendly people,

Thessaloniki is a unique city in every respect.
Thessaloniki is a unique city in every respect. I recommend you to walk around the city completely and explore the cafes and restaurants. I recommend you to visit historical squares, architectural works and museums. Especially visit the war museum and the Olympic museum. The exterior of the archaeological museum can be seen free of charge. I think the fee requested for the Macedonian gold section is too high. Have dinner at the tavern (make a reservation). Be sure to try the grilled mushrooms.
Very nice surprise in the heart of Thessaloniki! This hotel has it all: nice rooms, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, good breakfast and the most amazing staff. I've stayed in other hotels in Thessaloniki, but this one is my favorite so far. The breakfast is quite rich, with a lot of options, parking is available close to the hotel if you book in advance (at a very reasonable price) and the room rates are more than decent considering the area and the quality of the services.
The view from the balcony was magnificent, over the fortress of Thessaloniki. Unlike in other downtown hotels, there is a place to stop with car and unload the cases, without the fear you would be picked up by the service. Just around the corner (30m) is valet garage, 15eur/day, 50 m on the other side of the hotel is a public parking, but I doubt it is much cheaper - maybe 2-3 eur less. Supermarket, shops and Tzimiski street walking distance. Good breakfast.
The room was middle size but for our one night stay was OK. The location is good -near the city center and actually it is a perfect starting point for a trip in the main part of Thessaloniki.
The man on the reception giving the night shift was parfect proffesional. In my oppenion he was of a class of 5 star hotel. Taking care of every detail , knowing the answear of every question, explaining all about Thessaloniki in perfect English.
Solid, very clean hotel in excellent location on the main street of Thessaloniki directly on the bus line 01X from the airport, steps away from the Aristoteles Square. Close to lovely taverns and local market. My room was somewhat small, but comfortable, with working A/C (important on hot and humid days during my stay). Breakfast was sufficient. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I will certainly be happy to stay there again.
Hotel is very centrally located in Thessaloniki. Main door can be accessed with room card. Room is spacious and sparkling clean. We had the luck to have a room at the back side, so no noise disturbances. Great shower and kitchen with refrigerator. Gym is available, but small. Didn’t communicate that much with staff, but they are friendly.
Very nice hotel, perfect for your short stay in Thessaloniki.
- good location in walking distance from the city center, quite street
- really clean and cosy rooms with pretty much everything you need
- euipment - climatization, kettle, fridge, enough baggage space
- modern and comfortable - wide and luxurious bed, new bathroom
Friendly people at the desk.
It once was a very nice hotel, I guess, beautiful inside and outside. To keep it like that would require renovation and more maintenance. Now I found it just okay. So, all in all, I would say that it is very nice that there is in Thessaloniki a cheap hotel with a nice past which now is just okay.
We are visiting the hotel for second time and we are very satisfied. Top location in the city center of Thessaloniki, close by every attractions. Very clean room with very nice view from the terrace, beautiful bathroom and delicious breakfast. The staff is very polite, special greetings for Georgios from the restaurant.
Everything was perfect. The hotel is brand new.
Staff perfect facilities also. Beds so comfortable, and room facilities also.
It deserves more then 10.
For sure i would come back and also i will suggest to everyone who would like to visit Thesaloniki. It is the best 5 star hotel in the area.
Thank you
Modern, urban hotel with great location, about 10 minutes walking to the most attractive aria of Thessaloniki. The parking is a few buildings from the hotel, 10 euros per night, very important in the city center. The rooms are big and have interesting design. The staff are very nice and helpful.
Is there a better hotel in Thessaloniki? I don’t think so !!! this is the gem
of the city as far as hotels go. words are not enough to describe the location, the view and the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I just love it! every time I visit Thessaloniki i stay at Macedonia Palace
The location of the hotel is in the heart of thessaloniki and a walking distance from all of the best restaurants , bars and night clubs.
The hotel was very clean , tidy , the staff were very friendly , helpful and professional.
Much recommended
Absolutely perfect. Rooms, location, staff, food - we loved it all. When I come back to Thessaloniki, I would book this hotel again without a doubt. Thank you for the great service you provide to your guests!
A nice boutique hotel located in Thessaloniki city center. Accommodating, friendly and helpful personal. Good location, close to various attractions, sights, restaurants etc. Modern and comfortable room.

room - too old, too poor, not expected 5 stars hotel, the bathroom was very old and ugly :(
